City’s odds to lift the FA Cup will shorten still further.
Link copied to clipboard
Joe Cole and Jermaine Beckford will be doing the honours.

Great. It’s the magic of the cup we all talk about. It was a crazy game, incredible moments. We’re so happy we won at the end of the game, penalty shoot-out and that’s it. Now we’re going to celebrate and keep going.
We need to be prepared for everything and after they scored the first one, we knew they would come to attack to draw and force the game to extra-time. The beginning of the first half of extra-time was a situation of football and thank God that was offside. So happy that we won that match.
It’s going to be a massive game [the semi-final]. Now we need to focus on the Premier League matches that we have. We need to secure the points we need to stay in the league, but when the time comes, we’re going to focus 100% on the cup and hopefully have a good game.
Link copied to clipboard
It should get going in the next 10 minutes or so.
Here are the draw numbers:
Link copied to clipboard
His penalty kissed the post, but the right side of the post, and it nestles into the back of the net.
Bowen and Pablo the players to miss for West Ham.
Leeds through to their first FA Cup semi-final since 1987 after a classic.
Link copied to clipboard
Pablo did not look confident, and the Leeds goalkeeper saved diving to his right.
Struijk stepping up to win it... if he scores Leeds are going to Wembley.
Link copied to clipboard
Herrick got a hand to it, but Gnonto’s shot had enough power behind it.
Pablo to take next for West Ham.
Link copied to clipboard
Soucek scored two penalties in the international break, and makes no mistake with this one. The scores are level are three penalties taken.
Gnonto to go next for Leeds...
Link copied to clipboard
Almost a carbon copy of Walker-Peters’ penalty, Aaronson keeps his cool.
Soucek stepping up next.
Link copied to clipboard
Sent the goalkeeper the wrong way and passed the ball into the net with authority. One apiece after two taken.
Aaronson to take Leeds’ third...
Link copied to clipboard
Lifted down the middle, and it did the job.
Walker-Peters to take West Ham’s second, some pressure on this now. Nuno not watching.
Link copied to clipboard
A little casual from Bowen, he tried to roll the ball into the bottom-right corner, but Perri guessed right.
Both teams have missed their first.
DCL to take the next one for Leeds...
Link copied to clipboard
And the penalties will be taken in front of the West Ham end, as expected.
Piroe to take the first one...
Link copied to clipboard
The West Ham goalkeeper coach took him down the tunnel to issue his advice or instructions away from the cameras while the rest of the team were on the pitch. What a moment for the 20-year-old.
Link copied to clipboard
It has been reported today that the safety officers in charge of such matters will not allow a penalty shoot-out in front of the Leeds end.
Link copied to clipboard
Bornauw did ever so well to defend a through ball, while being chased by Adama Traore. We are just two minutes away from a shoot-out.
West Ham sub keeper Finlay Herrick was two months and two days old last time West Ham made an FA Cup semi, in March 2006. Feel like he is going to have a significant part to play from here.
Link copied to clipboard
Five minutes of stoppage time to play, and the ball has run through for Herrick to collect. The crowd cheer his first touch, and he kicks forward with good distance.
Link copied to clipboard
Here comes the young goalkeeper: Fin Herrick makes his West Ham debut because of a muscular problem for Areola. Herrick started the season on loan at Boreham Wood.
Link copied to clipboard
Areola remains down, and is receiving treatment. West Ham have 20-year-old goalkeeper Fin Herrick on the bench, having rested Hermansen entirely. Herrick has not made a senior appearance for West Ham, but he has taken his tracksuit off in double-quick time. Could Herrick be the hero of a penalty shoot-out.
Link copied to clipboard
Ampadu miscued a cross but it had Areola scrambling as it flew over his head and out for a goal kick. West Ham’s goalkeeper goes down, and his legs are being stretched in the usual pose for cramp.
Link copied to clipboard
Kante barrels his way through midfield for West Ham, bundles his way into the box, but then he slashed a left-footed shot wide of goal. The best chance of the second half of extra time.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds keeping possession more now, compared to the first period of extra time. They are probing down the left but Aaronson’s cross is blocked, and then he commits a foul.
Link copied to clipboard
Early in the second period of extra time, Justin was in a promising position but his delivery was neither a cross nor a shot.
By my reckoning the demented internal logic of this match dictates that Leeds will now boss the second half of extra time, hit the woodwork six times and have three goals disallowed by VAR for offside, foul throws and rudeness. What a fabulous and silly game. West Ham in the ascendancy for a sustained spell for the first time all afternoon but suspect they may lament that harsh VAR call on Castellanos and Bowen hitting the post. And yet they still needed two big saves from Areola. Great atmosphere now. Not often you can say that here.
Link copied to clipboard
A 15-minute period full of incident. Castellanos just strayed offside, Bowen so unlucky not to score, but Areola denied Leeds with a super save.
Link copied to clipboard
Just before half-time in extra time, Leeds have a free-kick in a crossing position but Justin’s delivery was overhit.
Link copied to clipboard
Unless I have missed one, Adama Traore has had one of his best games in years. Another wonderful dribble through the middle of the pitch tees up Diouf, but he slashes wide from a tight angle when there were West Ham bodies in the middle.
Link copied to clipboard
Bowen goes close again, passing the ball wide of the far post, but he justifiably claims a corner. Referee gives the goal kick.
Link copied to clipboard
Bowen hits the post! Another corking strike from West Ham’s captain, and Pablo did brilliantly to turn the rebound home on the volley but he was four or five yards offside.
Link copied to clipboard
Big save by Perri! Castellanos turned the ball towards goal from six yards, but the Leeds goalkeeper spread himself and kept the ball out with his face.
Link copied to clipboard
Extra time has continued like the 11 minutes of stoppage time; both teams attacking with abandon. Both will fancy their chances of scoring a third.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds really should have scored! Walker-Peters hooked the ball off the line, and Ampadu strode on to it on the penalty spot but Areola produced a stunning save to get finger tips to his shot, and Soucek also blocked. Then Gnonto blasts over.
Link copied to clipboard
It is a glaring mistake by the West Ham goalkeeper, but it is a great finish on the volley by Castellanos. Perri could have caught the bouncing ball, but was worried about carrying the ball outside of his box, and he miscued a header instead. Castellanos found the back of the net from a tight angle.
But has he strayed offside? VAR checking.
Link copied to clipboard
A rare case of “We can see you sneaking in”. Am sure there are more West Ham fans in seats than there were with 15 minutes left. Would have given you any odds you liked on extra time when Calvert-Lewin scored his penalty but football loves making fools of us all doesn’t it?
Suppose you would call Traore and Bowen the most recognisable attacking players on either team and sometimes the game is as simple as giving the most talented blokes the ball and letting them figure it out. They have both kept plugging away and forced a deeply unlikely draw.
You’d make West Ham favourites from here, Leeds looked crestfallen after the equaliser. But suspect more match report-ruining twists to follow.
Link copied to clipboard
Suppose you could just about argue West Ham deserve that goal, having hit the woodwork twice, but some surprise to see it scored just the same. Leeds still pressing very high up the pitch and have shown very few signs of vulnerability. All up for grabs now though. Have even seen a few fans returning to seats from the concourse.
Link copied to clipboard
Not enough power on Calvert-Lewin’s header from the free-kick, and Areola bowls the ball out. Diouf fouls and that might be that for normal time.
Link copied to clipboard
There are going to be two more minutes to play, and Walker-Peters has just defended very well to deny Gnonto. But Leeds have a free-kick in a crossing position near the left corner of the box. Foul by Fernandes.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham have a free-kick and are going to launch the ball forward. There still might be four minutes or more to play. There were 11 added on, and the celebrations of Disasi’s goal and the VAR check lasted a while.
Link copied to clipboard
Danny Dyer is celebrating in the stands, and West Ham have come back from the dead to level. Adama Traore with a wonderful inswinging cross from the left, and Disasi raises his boot to bury an acrobatic finish.
The London Stadium goes wild, but VAR checks for a high foot.... GOAL GIVEN!

Leeds are not managing this particularly well, have barely kept the ball since conceding the first one.
Link copied to clipboard
Some of the West Ham fans were on their way down the stairwells of the London Stadium, but have made their way back for what could be a grandstand finish. Nervous moments if you are a Leeds supporter.
Link copied to clipboard
Fernandes has the goal but it is all about Jarrod Bowen. Lovely first touch to control the cross, another to chop inside, and then a left-footed shot which cracked off the post. Fell for Fernandes, who controlled the ball on his thigh and scored a tap in.
Link copied to clipboard
There are going to be 11 minutes of added time. A few VAR checks, seven subs, but that still feels a little excessive.
West Ham fans have a grain of hope again, and Pablo goes close to glancing Diouf’s cross into the top corner.
Link copied to clipboard
Bijol with another important defensive header, and a Leeds counter-attack ends with a Bogle shot that flies just over the bar.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds are finishing the game camped in West Ham’s half, the home team look physically and mentally finished. They need to gather themselves for a mammoth home game against Wolves on Friday night.
Link copied to clipboard
Stach has his foot in a boot and has crutches on the bench; that is the only blot on the copybook for Leeds fans today. Calvert-Lewin has won them a corner. They are cruising now. The more likely goal is 0-3 rather than 1-2.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham looking ragged now, losing all of the 50:50s and giving the ball away cheaply in their own half. It opened up for the substitute defender Bornauw to strike from long range, and Areola pushed it over the bar.
Link copied to clipboard
It really should be three for Leeds! Calvert-Lewin with a ball across goal, Bogle arrived at the far post and did the right thing by pulling the ball back across the six-yard box, and Gnonto’s backheel trickled just wide of the far post.
Link copied to clipboard
Some suggestions by the broadcaster that West Ham fans are booing Max Kilman. Let’s see what happens the next time he touches the ball. That goal has sucked the air out of the baloon, just as West Ham were growing into it.
Link copied to clipboard
For all his many qualities, Calvert-Lewin is not the cleanest striker of the ball but this was well-taken. Plenty of power and sent the goalkeeper the wrong way, wrapped into the left side-netting. Great penalty.
— Football on TNT Sports (@footballontnt) April 5, 2026Dominic Calvert-Lewin converts from 12 yards and Leeds have a 2-0 advantage 🔥

Huge appeals for a Leeds penalty! Kilman sliding in on Aaronson and he makes no contact with the ball, goes through the back of the Leeds player.
The referee is being sent across to the monitor... there is only one way this is going. Surely a Leeds penalty and the chance to settle the tie.
Link copied to clipboard
Gnonto, Gruev and Calvert-Lewin on; Nmecha, Okafor and the goalscorer Tanaka off are the Leeds changes.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds struggling to make the ball stick now, there was a nice flick from Nmecha but Aaronson slipped at the vital moment. West Ham have the momentum again, and have another corner. West Ham’s best spell by a distance. The corner is headed to the edge of the box, but Nmecha throws himself in front of Bowen’s strike.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham have a corner, and for the first time in the match the crowd are full engaged and believe there is a goal coming. Leeds are preparing a triple change, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be one of them.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham hit the post! Lovely inswinging cross from Traore, in the corridor between goalkeeper and centre-back, and Castellanos stoops low but he heads against the woodwork from close range. It looked like he had to score.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham’s attempts to equaliser after going behind have been, to quote Courtney Barnett, pedestrian at best. Don’t really see where their improvement comes from looking at their bench, so needs something from the capable bunch who are currently on the pitch.
Bowen and Traore clearly offer a threat but neither really doing enough to inspire their team or fans to alter the momentum. There is, admittedly, a bit of a roar after Castellanos whipped shot against the stanchion. Still think Leeds look more likely to score next.
Link copied to clipboard
Okafor with a forward into the West Ham box but his low cross is blocked, before the home team break and release Bowen. He tees up Castellanos from a shot on the run, but he cannot wrap his right foot around it and the ball hits the stanchion.
Link copied to clipboard
Kilman defends well with Leeds breaking into a promising position at the edge of the box. The game is opening up and becoming more chaotic. Walker-Peters wins West Ham a throw after a burst down the right.
Excellent defensive header from Bijol under pressure from Pablo.
Link copied to clipboard
Another injury headache for Farke: Rodon’s race is run, Bornauw replaces him. Even if Leeds get to Wembley, injuries for Stach and Rodon are a serious concern for their upcoming Premier League games.
Link copied to clipboard
Joe Rodon appeared to pick up and knock but he is soldiering on. Leeds trying to fly out of the traps as they did at the start of the second half. The flag goes up for offside against Castellanos, who sends a half-volley with the outside of his right foot flying into the top corner. Would have been some goal but the whistle had blown, and he was offside.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds launched a long throw into the box, but West Ham cleared and Ampadu found himself in a place no player wants to be: chasing Adama Traore. Ampadu hacked him down at the expense of a yellow card. A scything, cynical challenge but VAR checks and clears it, recommends no further punishment. I think Ampadu is fortunate, he raked his studs down the achilles.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds get the second half started. Wembley is in their sights, they just need to press on and get the second goal.
Link copied to clipboard
Soucek and Pablo are coming on, replacing Potts and Magassa. Nuno must have read Thom’s dispatch from the London Stadium in the first half; West Ham are second-best in midfield.
Link copied to clipboard
Some boos at the London Stadium after 45 minutes. West Ham missing some key men in Summerville, Soucek, Wan-Bissaka and Mavropanos, and those absences are showing. A very competent performance by Leeds so far, Bogle and Justin’s all-action style from wing-back has been eye-catching.
Link copied to clipboard
Nervous moment for Leeds after Castellanos wins first contact on a loopy cross, and the Bijol just did enough to block off Bowen but the flag goes up for offside in any case.
Link copied to clipboard
Four minutes of added time to play and already there are plenty of white seats around the stadium as fans head for refreshments. Leeds have been pretty comfortable, despite a speculative effort by Castellanos from range.
Link copied to clipboard
Farke has made that change now: Stach replaced by Aaronson. The German walked off the pitch, suggesting the injury is not too serious.
Stach initially looked too hurt to continue after the late tackle from Kilman, limped back on and has now been replaced by Aaronson. A shame, he’s been a fun presence. Tickled to note that the Leeds medical staff treating him were both wearing Predator boots. What are they planning for with those? Are they going to curl a roll of zinc oxide tape top bins?
Link copied to clipboard
Bad news for Leeds fans: Stach has come off worse in that collision with Kilman and he will be coming off. Farke taking no chances with one of Leeds’ most important players. Aaronson is getting stripped. Stach is back on the pitch but is not moving freely. Adama plays Walker-Peters into a dangerous position, but his cross was aimless.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham go in search of an equaliser and Potts whips a dangerous cross into the area which was just too far in front of Fernandes.
Then Leeds are away on the break after winning a loose ball, two on one, and Areola makes a brilliant one-handed save to keep out Stach’s shot.
But VAR is taking a looking at the challenge on Stach from Kilman, but they rule it was natural contact.
West Ham living dangerously.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds good value for that goal. Not very impressed with Potts and Magassa for West Ham, they seem content to let the game pass them by which is not really the quality you need from defensive midfielders. Stach in charge in their areas and Magassa embarrassed by Tanaka’s twists and turns in the box just before his goal.
Link copied to clipboard
The finish was deflected, but Tanaka deserves that stroke of fortune for some impudent skill in the penalty area. Tanaka spread the play to Justin, and Okafor found the midfielder in the penalty. Feints to shoot with his right, but drags the ball left to deceive Magassa, and the shot goes through Disasi’s legs and deflects in off the bar.
Link copied to clipboard
Okafor’s cross deflects behind for a corner, but Leeds fail to make anything of the set-piece. Stach wins an important second ball in midfield, before a cross from Justin flashes across goal. Leeds the better side in general play, but West Ham could easily have scored the game’s first goal.
Link copied to clipboard
Justin and Bogle are picking up some interesting positions inside West Ham’s shape, drifting into midfield areas despite starting as wing-backs. We have seen that plenty over the last few years with full-backs, but it is more unusual with wing-backs.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds having more possession, West Ham trying to spring on the counter-attack. Nmecha does well to protect the ball and hs is fouled by Kilman.
Link copied to clipboard
Another good opening in the game, this time for West Ham. Adama carried the ball forward and released Bowen who was free on the left, and his rasping strike across goal was saved by Perri. Castellanos then juggled the ball and tried to set himself up for the overhead kick, but he is penalised for a high foot.
Link copied to clipboard
Enjoying this a great deal more as a neutral than I imagine I will if back for the last West Ham match of the season, also at home to Leeds. There’s a looseness and fluidity so far that is rare in the current Premier League. Decent chances at both ends, good saves from either keeper and Okafor in particular has started brightly.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds have control of the ball again after floating in a teasing cross from the left. Interesting run into the box from James Justin but Magassa did well to track him and West Ham clear their lines. Plenty of attacking intent from both teams so far.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham gain some territory for the first time in the game, with Bowen winning a throw.
Then West Ham’s captain drives to the byline and flashes in a low cross, and Perri makes the second outstanding save of the match.
Castellanos got across the near post and flicked the ball towards goal, but the goalkeeper plunged to his left and clawed the ball off the line.
Link copied to clipboard
Really nervy start from West Ham, with Areola allowing the ball to run back towards his own goal-line before clearing in the nick of time under pressure from Okafor. West Ham fans were gloomy when they found out some of their regulars were missing, and that pessimism appears justified so far.
Link copied to clipboard
A front-foot start from Leeds, harrying West Ham high up and Walker-Peters clears for a throw deep in his own half. Ampadu launches the throw into the box, and from the second phase Areola makes a superb save to deny Okafor! The Leeds forward opened up his body and tried to pass the ball into the far corner, but the goalkeeper tipped his attempt around the post.
Link copied to clipboard
Leeds are carrying two wreaths in honour of Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight, the two supporters stabbed and killed in Istanbul 26 years ago today before a Uefa Cup game against Galatasaray. They lay the wreaths in front of the packed away end.
Link copied to clipboard
Rare London Stadium upside: there is a generous away fan allocation for cup games. Leeds have 9,000 here this afternoon who are mostly in position already trying to compete with On A Ragga Tip being played as ASBO volume. Cannot spot anyone with a tin foil trophy so FA Cup magic in extremely short supply.
Link copied to clipboard
We had players that were not available, players that were still recovering, but we are positive in this moment of the season, all players are important.
Link copied to clipboard
First of all, more than half of the squad were involved in important games during international duty, of course, we’re in a position where we have all to play for and for that we didn’t allow ourselves too many days off. We had hard work on the training pitch, and for that it prepared us for the game today.
At this stage of the season, it is never healthy to have three weeks without a competitive game and with that, we get the feeling without doing anything stupid. It makes no sense to rest all the others who played no games in two weeks and the next game is just in eight days.
For us, we hope we are able to have a good game and for us also a big game. It’s more than two decades ago that Leeds United were in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, so we take this game very seriously and want to be there with the best possible result.
Link copied to clipboard
But this FA Cup run has definitely been really good for the squad. We’ve maybe seen a slightly different style of football in the cups compared to the league, and we’ve shown that we are still able to do the things we were doing last season.
I’ve never played at Wembley Stadium before, so it would be amazing for me and the fans [to get there]. It would be a good day out. We are close so we might as well try to go all the way now.
Link copied to clipboard
West Ham and Leeds have made five and three changes respectively from their previous Premier League game. For Nuno, we await to hear how many of those changes are enforced. Judging back the absence of Mavropanos,Wan-Bissaka and Summerville from the bench, there must be some niggles. Leeds lining up in their 5-3-2 shape and their midfield should be a strength with Stach, Ampadu and Tanaka in there.
A few groans around a less-than-neutral press room when the team sheets revealed Max Kilman is starting. I see he is also trending on the website formerly known as Twitter, and predictably it is not because so many people are wishing him the best of luck. Mavropanos has been in excellent form at centre back for West Ham but sustained a head injury on international duty for Greece this week.

We are back after Saturday’s goalfest in the FA Cup quarter-finals and this afternoon West Ham take on Leeds United at the London Stadium. It is a draw which raises the question of whether both teams can put their Premier League predicament aside in the hope of a Wembley trip for their fans.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side come into the match having drawn six of their last eight games in 90 minutes across all competitions. Despite this new-found consistency, a lacklustre performance in their last outing against Aston Villa cost them crucial ground in the relegation battle, with Nottingham Forest moving three points clear with their win at Spurs. At home, West Ham have not lost a game at in the last three months.
Posing as a tricky side to defeat in front of their home crowd, they strive to keep this cup run alive and reach their first FA Cup semi-final since they finished runners-up in 2006. Twenty years on, this competition has been something to savour for the London side this year, despite relegation hanging over them.
Has this relentless cup form reignited West Ham’s optimism and given the squad new belief heading into their final eight games of the season? With a two-week gap following the international break, there’s been plenty of time to park the relegation doubts and focus on today. Nuno has always excelled in the FA Cup reaching the semi-finals twice before with both Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers. You would expect him to utilise this experience in today’s fixture in hopes of continuing West Ham’s unlikely run through the competition.
Meanwhile, Leeds find themselves in a similar sticky situation. Despite having only lost twice in their last nine games, they still face a daunting run with the relegation zone just over their shoulder, four points clear of the drop. Leeds have drawn a blank in their last two games, but they will have 9,000 fans in the away end in east London.
In the Premier League against West Ham, Leeds proved to be the dominant side, victorious in their last encounter. A deeper FA Cup run would do wonders for their campaign and hopefully ease the ever mounting pressure in the league. History looms over them having lost their last three FA Cup quarter-finals, it will demand a mammoth effort to reach their first semi-final in the competition since 1986-87.
Kick-off is at 4.30pm, with line-ups on the way shortly.
