War in Ukraine is reshaping our world. Every weekday, the Telegraph’s top journalists analyse the conflict from all angles – just as they have since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, when tanks, jets and troops crossed Ukraine’s borders.
Downloaded over 140 million times and trusted by listeners worldwide, the team considers military strategy, history, weaponry, economics, refugee crises, culture, and daily life in Putin’s autocratic Russia and Zelensky’s democratic Ukraine. Our correspondents on the ground talk to experts and civilians to cover every aspect of Russia’s brutal invasion.
It is available on its own YouTube channel, featuring dispatches on the ground, maps, and battlefield footage.
The podcast has earned major accolades, most recently winning Podcast of the Year at the London Press Club and News Podcast of the Year at the 2025 Press Awards, where the judges called it “a gripping testament to courageous and vitally important public interest journalism.” It also won Best Use of Audio at the Digital Publishing Awards 2025. Previously, it was awarded Best News Podcast at the Publisher Podcast Awards 2024 and Podcast of the Year at the Society of Editors’ Media Freedom Awards 2024.
The creator of the podcast, David Knowles – who died unexpectedly in September 2024 – was posthumously honoured with the Public Service Journalism award at the British Journalism Awards. It is in his memory that the team continues to build and develop the podcast.
