What an exceptional game of football. Real’s indiscipline has cost them, with Camavinga’s red card handing Bayern the advantage. The home side pounced, with Luis Diaz and Olise netting late goals to seal the victory and secure Bayern’s passage into the semi-finals. Real are furious and surround the referee. Guler is shown a late red for his protests. It won’t change the outcome. Bayern are victorious in a Champions League classic.

Bayern are through to the semi-finals and Olise has sealed the victory with a superb goal. The winger is unleashed on the counter and from just inside the penalty area, he curls a sumptuous effort into the top corner. It cannons off the post as it goes in. The Allianz Arena erupts and Real are floored. Bayern have done it.

Desperate times for Real, who are throwing everyone forward. Can Bayern hold on?
Link copied to clipboard
The range from which Luis Diaz scored is exactly the area that Camavinga would have covered. Just over two minutes between the red card and Bayern’s third goal. There’s four minutes of added time. Can Real find a late goal to rescue this tie?
Link copied to clipboard
Is that the goal which settles this tie and secures Bayern’s passage into the semi-finals? Luis Diaz plays a neat one-two with Musiala, who flicks the ball into the winger’s path. He takes a touch out of his feet and bends an effort into the far corner. It takes a deflection off Eder Militao and flies into the net.

Camavinga only came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute and he commits an insignificant foul on Kane. After messing around with the ball and holding onto it for too long, the referee reaches into his pocket and reveals a second yellow card for the young midfielder. It’s such a needless red card and Camavinga may have cost his side.
Link copied to clipboard
Kane slams an effort at goal which takes a wicked deflection off Camavinga. With Lunin diving the other way, Rudiger makes a pivotal interception to clear the ball.
Link copied to clipboard
Vinicius Junior pounces on a mistake from Upamecamo and dribbles towards Bayern’s penalty area. However, the defender recovers admirably and uses his pace to catch up with the Real forward, who can’t dig out a shot or a cross.
Link copied to clipboard
Mbappe was temporarily down and receiving treatment. After leaving the pitch for 30 seconds, he re-enters the action. He seemed to be holding his groin earlier but looks okay to continue. He’s been unplayable for Real this evening.
Link copied to clipboard
Olise has come alive in these last five minutes. Once again, he cuts inside, drifting away from Guler and Mendy. The winger tries to bend an audacious effort into the far top corner, but it narrowly sails over the bar. You know what Olise is going to do when he gets the ball, but you can’t stop him. Camavinga is then awarded a yellow card for halting a Bayern attack.
Link copied to clipboard
Upamecano heads a golden chance wide. Olise curls such an inviting free kick into the box. Upamecano escapes his marker and heads wide from point-blank range. Somehow, we remain without a goal in this second half.
Link copied to clipboard
What a chance for Real. Mbappe uses his blistering acceleration to breeze past Tah. He gets to the byline and pulls the ball back for Vinicius Junior with a low cross. However, the Brazilian doesn’t connect with his first-time strike and Bayern scramble it clear.
Link copied to clipboard
No goals yet in this second half. If the scoreline stays as it is, we will go into extra-time.
Link copied to clipboard
It’s Lunin’s turn to make an eye-catching save as Olise cuts inside and shoots. It could have been going off target but Lunin uses his towering frame to tip the ball over the bar.
Link copied to clipboard
Kimmich attempts to find Davies with a fizzing through ball, but the midfielder just slightly overhits it, allowing Lunin to gather. Valverde netted a goal against Girona at the weekend, and from similar range outside of the box, he powers a venomous effort at Neuer. However, the goalkeeper is up to the task and makes a solid stop.
Link copied to clipboard
Sensational defending from Alexander-Arnold. Kane plays in Luis Diaz, who thinks he is through on goal. Alexander-Arnold tracks back and makes a last-ditch challenge to stop his former Liverpool teammate from shooting.
Link copied to clipboard
Changes for both sides. Gnabry has struggled to influence the game this evening and he comes off, with Musiala on his replacement. Arbeloa adds more security to his midfield as Camavinga replaces Brahim Diaz.
Link copied to clipboard
Real look incredibly dangerous when they get forward. Mbappe’s pace and directness is frightening. Bayern are finding him almost impossible to contain.
Link copied to clipboard
That is fantastic defending from Tah. The centre-back is confronted with the terrifying task of defending one-on-one against Mbappe. The striker works some space and shoots, but Tah makes a magnificent block.
Link copied to clipboard
What a save from Neuer. Real are so close to a fourth goal on the night. That is vintage Alexander-Arnold. The right back is in possession, picks his head up, spots Mbappe’s run and delivers a menacing cross into the box. Mbappe sneaks in between Upamecano and Laimer to meet the cross at the back post. The forward directs an effort at goal, but Neuer stands firm to make a crucial save from point-blank range.
Link copied to clipboard
Bellingham dispossesses Pavlovic on the halfway line, with Real set to launch a counter through Mbappe. Luckily for Pavlovic, the referee awards a free kick. It was a never a foul. Bellingham won the ball fairly and can’t believe it. Bayern have got away with one there.
Link copied to clipboard
Mendy pushes Olise in the back, giving Bayern a free kick and allowing everyone to take a breath.
Link copied to clipboard
Bayern nearly score at the start of the second half. Davies gets forward and his cross breaks to Kane. The ball is eventually worked to Luis Diaz, who fires a low effort which deflects just wide. That could have gone anywhere.
Link copied to clipboard
We are back under way for the second. Bayern have made a half-time change, with Davies replacing Stanisic. Real are unchanged at the break. Can the second half replicate the drama of the first?
Link copied to clipboard
What a breathless and exhilarating half of football. Five goals and unlimited drama. This is the Champions League at its very best.
Link copied to clipboard
Kompany felt that Stanisic was fouled in the build-up to that third goal. He’s complaining, but his protests are being ignored.
Link copied to clipboard
Bellingham plays in Vinicius Junior, who dribbles at Tah. The Brazilian waits for Mbappe to arrive in support and plays a perfectly-weighted ball through to his attacking partner. Mbappe then clinically slides a one-on-one effort under Neuer. Madrid are back ahead on the night and we are back level on aggregate. Unbelievable.
Link copied to clipboard
Real are so close to a third goal. Brahim Diaz unleashes Vinicius Junior with a lofted ball over the top. The Brazilian collects the ball before firing an effort which clips the bar. You can’t take your eyes off this game.
Link copied to clipboard
Once again, Bayern respond to a Real goal, and of course, it’s Kane. Upamecano advances with the ball and whips an intelligent pass into Kane. The Bayern talisman finds some space between Alexander-Arnold and Eder Militao, before clinically powering an effort into the bottom corner. Lunin has no chance and that is Kane at his very best.
Fifty goals in a season. What an achievement for Harry Kane. Special footballer, and arguably still underrated. This is an incredible game. Every attack looks like it will bring a goal.

Neuer is enduring an uncharacteristically poor evening.
A great free-kick, but surely that was another Neuer howler?
Link copied to clipboard
Guler’s first half double has hauled Real back into this contest. Bayern haven’t been that bad, but Neuer’s early mistake and Guler’s unexpected free kick has thrown this game into uncertainty.
Link copied to clipboard
What an incredible goal from the Real youngster. The visitors win a free kick in such a dangerous position and Alexander-Arnold is stood over it. Everyone thinks the former Liverpool man is going to take it, but Guler steps up and whips an effort into the top corner. Neuer gets a hand to it, but he can’t keep the effort out. It was strange goalkeeping from Neuer, who didn’t even dive, but take nothing away from Guler. The playmaker is having a dreamy first half.

Once again, Bayern hurl a corner into the box and Lunin completely misses it. The goalkeeper looks so uncomfortable from crosses. However, Lunin redeems himself as he makes an eye-catching save to parry away Kimmich’s arrowed strike from outside the area.
Link copied to clipboard
Taking all early action and drama into consideration, Kane has played a very low-key role in these opening stages. Olise bursts into life and cuts inside to shoot with his left foot, but his effort is blocked.
Link copied to clipboard
Mendy gallops into Bayern’s penalty area and is confronted by Tah. Both players are holding each other and eventually fall to the ground. There are some half-hearted appeals for a penalty from some Real players, but the referee isn’t interested.
Link copied to clipboard
What a chance for Mbappe. Vinicius Junior drifts out to the left wing and threads a delightful ball through to the onrushing Mbappe, who is racing in on goal. The Frenchman should shoot with his left foot, but he lets the ball run across his body so he can use his right. This allows Laimer to track back and make a goal-saving challenge.
Link copied to clipboard
Since his costly error inside the first minute, Neuer has had the ball at his feet on a couple occasions and opted for the simple pass. The 40-year-old is arguably the greatest goalkeeper of the modern era, but he’s still capable of making glaring mistakes.
Link copied to clipboard
Now the game has settled down, it looks like Bayern have wrestled back the control after a frantic start. Eder Militao makes a risky sliding challenge inside the penalty area as he tackles Diaz, who has looked extremely lively in these first 15 minutes.
Link copied to clipboard
Real have already paid a massive price for the absence of Courtois. Lunin looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet in the first leg, and appears equally shaky when trying to deal with set pieces. Bayern launch another corner in the box, but on this occasion, a Real player is fouled and Lunin survives.
Link copied to clipboard
You can’t take your eyes off this game. Anyone who was expecting a cagey match has been emphatically proven wrong courtesy of a mad opening 10 minutes.
A perplexed Vincent Kompany was probably wondering if Manuel Neuer spent this afternoon watching Lloris Karius videos. Real Madrid’s ability to benefit from their opponents’ mystifying mistakes in the most consequential games is remarkable. On this occasion, their problem is that their own keeper has matched Neuer’s rare inefficiency. Neither of these keepers appears likely to contend for the golden glove this season.
Link copied to clipboard
Diaz does well to win a corner off Alexander-Arnold. Kimmich swings a ball into the box and Lunin won’t want to see this again... The Real goalkeeper is outmuscled and fails to deal with the corner, allowing Pavlovic to head in from point-blank range. That is nearly as bad as Neuer’s earlier error. Both goalkeepers have now gifted the opposition a goal. Pavlovic’s header has propelled Bayern ahead again on aggregate.

What a ridiculous start to this game. That early goal will give Real so much belief. All Bayern’s hard work in the first leg has unravelled.
Link copied to clipboard
Incredible scenes! What was Neuer doing?! The ball is played back to the goalkeeper, who attempts an ambitious switch of play. He gets the execution completely wrong and it falls to Guler. The Real man can’t believe his luck as he sweeps the ball into an empty net. What a stunning start to this game. We are now level on aggregate.

The Premier League leaders hold a slender 1-0 advantage over Sporting after last week’s first leg in Portugal. Kai Havertz struck a late winner for Arsenal, who are the favourites to advance into the semi-finals.

On Tuesday evening, PSG beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield to secure a 4-0 aggregate victory and progress into the Champions League semi-finals. A second-half double from the irrepressible Ousmane Dembele sealed the win, with the reigning European champions looking like the leading candidates to lift the trophy for a successive season.
PSG against either Bayern or Real is a formidable semi-final match-up, with all eyes on the Allianz Arena this evening.
Last night’s other quarter-final saw Atletico Madrid squeeze past Barcelona (3-2 on aggregate) despite losing 2-1 in the second leg. Diego Simeone’s men will play either Arsenal or Sporting in the semi-finals.
Link copied to clipboard
Alvaro Arbeloa has named four changes to last week’s first-leg line-up. Jude Bellingham made a positive impact from the bench in that game and starts this evening. Eder Militao, Ferland Mendy and Brahim Diaz also come in. Following his yellow card in last week’s first leg, Aurelien Tchouameni is suspended, while Dean Huijsen, Alvaro Carreras and Thiago Pitarch drop to the bench. Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo are missing due to injuries.
Link copied to clipboard
Vincent Kompany has named the same team which won the first leg in Madrid. Harry Kane was rested St Pauli and begins from the outset this evening. Serge Gnabry is also back, after missing the St Pauli match due to a precautionary issue. Lennart Karl and Sven Ulreich are absent from the squad with injuries.
Link copied to clipboard
It was a chaotic game in Madrid, with both teams spurning some glorious chances. Dayot Upamecano and Serge Gnabry missed golden opportunities for Bayern, while Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior forced solid saves from Manuel Neuer.
Clinical finishes from Diaz and Kane, either side of half-time, put Bayern into a 2-0 lead. The visitors were purring, and Real were flagging, but the home side wrestled back some control, with Mbappe pulling a goal back in the 74th minute.
Real’s performance was characterised by a series of errors on the ball and lapses in concentration, and on another night, Bayern could have scored four or five.
However, Real fought back, and with the aggregate score at 2-1, all possibilities seem plausible ahead of the second leg in Munich.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of this Champions League quarter-final second-leg game between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid at the Allianz Arena.
When Harry Kane doubled Bayern’s lead within 20 seconds of the second half in last week’s first leg in Spain, Real looked on the verge of collapse. Luiz Diaz had already handed Vincent Kompany’s side the advantage with a composed 41st-minute finish, before Kane swept in Bayern’s second.
The Santiago Bernabeu became a cauldron of despair and anxiety. Still, Real, inspired by Jude Bellingham’s introduction from the bench, rallied as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior both came close to scoring. Trent Alexander-Arnold eventually set up Mbappe with a brilliant cross, and the French forward tapped in from close range to halve the deficit, leaving the tie delicately balanced.
Unsurprisingly, Bayern are cruising to the Bundesliga title. They smashed St Pauli 5-0 at the weekend, extending their unbeaten league run to ten matches, while also breaking the record for the most Bundesliga goals scored in a single season. Jamal Musiala’s early header was Bayern’s 101st league goal, equalling the record they set in the 1971/72 campaign. The full-time result ensured that the German powerhouse have now scored 105 goals in 29 Bundesliga games this season.
Bayern’s overwhelming domestic superiority meant that Kane and Aleksander Pavlovic were unused substitutes against St Pauli. Other key players such as Diaz, Michael Olise, Joshua Kimmich, Josip Stanisic, and Jonathan Tah all either started on the bench or were withdrawn in the second half. Serge Gnabry missed the match but is ready to return. The free-scoring Germans are well rested and overflowing with confidence, and look like serious contenders for this season’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s stuttering domestic campaign was dealt another blow at the weekend as Alvaro Arbeloa’s men drew 1-1 against Girona in LaLiga at the Bernabeu. Federico Valverde powered Real into a 51st-minute lead, before Thomas Lemar netted an equaliser. Barcelona’s commanding 4-1 victory over Espanyol meant that the Catalans extended their LaLiga advantage to nine points. With just eight league fixtures remaining, Real have seemingly allowed the title to escape their grasp.
Only a Champions League trophy can rescue what has been a hugely disappointing season for the Spanish giants. However, they’ll need a win in Germany over Bayern to have any chance of progressing into the semi-finals.
Kick-off is at 20:00, with team news to follow shortly.
