Delhi Capitals pacer Kyle Jamieson was handed a demerit point and a warning for his send-off after dismissing batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
In the second innings of DC’s game against Rajasthan Royals, Jamieson bowled a sharp in-swinging yorker that rattled the stumps of the RR opener. Pumped after the wicket, Jamieson celebrated aggressively while locking eyes with Sooryavanshi, sparking criticism from fans and players alike.

“It should have been allowed to pass. In cricket, in T20 cricket, in the IPL, when you are conflicted, always be on the side of the bowlers. He just looked in that direction and that’s it. Yeah, he gave him a bit of aggression there, but it was nothing obscene,” he said on Sportstar’s Insight Edge podcast.
The cricketer-turned-broadcaster added that the incident would have been met with a different approach if it were an Indian pacer.
“I’ve not seen any warning being given to that Indian star like (Mohammed) Siraj. We love to see a bit of aggression from the bowlers,” he added.
Manjrekar further opined that the bowlers are being heavily oppressed by the game in the current circumstances.
“Their life is too tough. They are the oppressed party. The game is heavily loaded in favour of the batter. So, any bowler letting out a bit of steam is acceptable, unless there are gestures which are not appropriate or something that is sad, looks nasty and ugly on television,” he asserted.
