A statement chase yet against from Punjab Kings, which keeps its unbeaten run going in resounding fashion yet again. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh set the tone yet against with brisk half-centuries, before Shreyas Iyer took over with an unbeaten 69 runs from 33 balls. 

Shivang Kumar and Harsh Dubey were impressive with the ball for SRH, but the rest of its bowlers to struggled to create clearcut chances and went around the park. It is now sixth with two points from four games, while PBKS moves to second. 

Abhishek for the final rites, Shreyas knocks a single away. Shashank eases away another single. Another single to long-on, and the scores are level.

Shashank tucks it fine, and Punjab Kings by six wickets with seven balls remaining!

Unadkat returns, two singles to start the over. Bunted straight to long-on for one more. Shot from Shreyas again! Driven over covers, and it rolls into the boundary for four more. Beautiful batting.

Tapped to the sweeper for one. Six! Slower bouncer, and Shashank flatbats it over covers and mid-off all the way for a maximum! PBKS four runs away now.

Harsh Dubey returns, and he’s yorked Wadhera first ball! He’s on his way, can SRH dream?

Eshan Malinga for his third. Wadhera backs away and misses, he’s lucky to keep his stumps intact. Flicked to leg for one. Thrown down leg, called a wide. Murdered over covers by Shreyas, beautiful batting! Four more to the score. Aaaand six more, that’s a 24-ball fifty for the PBKS skipper! Second in a row, he’s in fine form again.

Slower bouncer, Shreyas looks to uppercut and misses. On a length again, and Shreyas clubs it over the leg-side for six more!

Harshal Patel returns, asking rate is just below 10. Shreyas nails the ball to covers. Wadhera taps another single to long-on. Ooh, Shreyas steps across and misses one, clips him on the pad but sliding.

Six! Short ball and Shreyas hooks it into the stands. He’s on the charge now. Four now! Didn’t time it properly, but it yorks Klaasen at long-off and spins away for four. Six more! And now just over long-on!

Six! Hooks the short ball, and it flies all the way for six! Shreyas on the charge now.

Shivang to bowl out, Wadhera looks to sweep and loses his footing. Cut away for one. Oooh, inside-edge past the off-stump for Shreyas. Slapped out to deep cover for one. Wadhera nurdles away another single.

Eased away for one more to end the over, and the close of an excellent spell from Shivang. 

Nitish again, singles to both Shreyas and Wadhera again. Shreyas going at run-a-ball for now, when will he look to go? Wadhera slices to the sweeper for one.

Pick the bones out of that! Half-volley outside off, and Shreyas slaps it high over the leg-side for his first six of the day. And four more! Cut past point and it rockets away to the boundary.

And we each the halfway stage of the chase. PBKS will back itself to knock off 96 from the remaining 10 overs, but SRH could easily get back into this with a few wickets.

Shivang to bowl his third, and Connolly slugs it into the gap for four! Connolly looks to go straight now...but gets only height to find Aniket at long-off!

Nitish Kumar Reddy into the attack. A dot first ball. Iyer takes a single off the next ball. Another single by Connolly. 

Now a single by Shreyas. Another single for Connolly. A double to end the over. Six runs from it. 

Shivang continues. Starts off with a wide. Connolly takes a single towards midwicket. Prabhsimran sweeps but can only take a single. Another single, this time by Connolly. 

FOUR! Prabhsimran slog sweeps towards backward square leg and gets to his fifty in style. A 24-ball half-century for Prabhsimran. 

OUT! Prabhsimran tries to go over long off and is caught in the deep. Next ball after reaching fifty, Prabhsimran is gone.

OUT! Same shot but this time the fielder grabs the catch. Arya is gone after scoring 57 off 20 balls. Much needed wicket for SRH. 

Cooper Connolly in at three. Takes a single off the first ball. Prabhsimran gives him the strike back. 

Connolly drives but is fielded at the cover region. A dot. Another dot to end the over. 

Harshal Patel into the attack. SIX! Full ball and Arya plays a lofted cover drive and the ball goes just over the fielder in the deep. SIX!! Another maximum. This time he slaps the ball length ball over long on. What a hit. 

Follows it up with a four straight down the ground. Another four! Full ball and Priyansh lofts over mid on. That’s fifty for Priyansh in just 16 balls.

Slower ball, Arya goes for the slog but misses it! A single to end the PowerPlay. 

Malinga for his second over. FOUR! Prabhsimran comes down the track and upper cuts the short ball over short third fielder. Quick adjustment there. Now takes a single in the same region. 

A wide ball - too wide outside off. SIX! Arya punches the ball in the air and it goes for six over covers! Brilliant shot. Full toss and Arya once again lofts it in the cover region and gets a boundary! Splendid hitting. 

He taps towards off side and takes a single. A dot to end the over. 

Unadkat. SIX! Prabhsimran comes down the track and launches the length ball into the site screen! Another massive hit. 

The keeper is now standing at the stumps. Prabhsimran drives straight to covers, a dot. SIX! Slower bouncer and Prabhsimran picks it over fine leg region. Easy pickings. 

Dropped! Prabhsimran drives straight at Unadkar who couldn’t grab the ball. He takes a single. 

Arya gives the strike back to Prabhsimran. A single to end the over.

Jaydev Unadkat from the other end. On the pads and Prabhsimran whacks it towards midwicket boundary for four. Now he drives towards mid off but it’s a dot. 

SIX! Prabhsimran comes down the track and hits a monstrous six over long on. Way into the second tier. What a hit. Slower one and Prabhsimran taps and takes a single. 

Arya plays a dot. Slower bouncer and Arya misses it again. 

Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh open the innings. Harsh Dubey will begin the proceedings. Jaydev Unadkat is the Impact Sub for SRH. 

Aryan begins the chase with a slog sweep for four! He comes down the track, and lofts over mid on and gets a double. He didn’t time that shot. 

Another slog sweep attempted but Arya has missed it. Ishan appeals for lbw but umpire says not out SRH has reviewed. Wickets missing! Review wasted. 

Another double. This time towards deep midwicket. SIX! Length ball and Arya picks it straight over the bowler’s head. He ends the over with another four, straight back past the bowler. 

An innings of two halves, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma dominated the first half with a typically barnstorming partnership. They put on 105 in the PowerPlay alone, and their opening stand was worth 120, before Shashank Singh removed both in a single over.

The second half though, was all about the bowlers, who put on a brilliant display of defensive bowling to ensure that SRH could add only 87 runs in the second 10 overs of the innings. Heinrich Klaasen struggled in particular for his 33-ball 39 as SRH closes on 219 for six.

Arshdeep to close out, slower bouncer and Salil swings it over the leg-side for a huge six! Full and straight, misses a hoick. Nails the yorker, Salil gets it away for one. 

Inside-edge from Klaasen, and he’s lucky is avoids his stumps. Full again, Salil swings it hiiiiigghhh....and Bartlett pouches it! 99 wickets in IPL, and Salil is on his way.

Nitish Kumar Reddy is the new man. Looks to lap, Arshdeep nails the yorker and hits him on the back leg...but not given! PBKS reviews, but it’s pitching outside leg! 

Jansen to bowl out, Klaasen needs to get going for SRH now. Starts with a wide down leg. Drilled to long-off for one. Nails the yorker, and Salil can only guide it to short third. Perfect wide yorker, there were a couple of noises but it was just bat on ground. Change of angle for Jansen, Salil slaps it to deep cover for one more. Slower ball, and it’s so slow that Klaasen can’t land his ramp. 

And he’s finally away to end the over! Leg-stump half-volley and Klaasen swings it high and handsome over the leg-side! 

Chahal to bowl his third, and Aniket slogs it over the leg-side for six! Worked into the gap for two more. Four! Thrown wide and Aniket slaps it straight. Thick edge, miscommunication and Aniket is run-out! The call came for two, but it was never there.

Salil Arora is the new batter, punched for one to start. Swept away, it seemed there might be two but Priyansh Arya does well to save the extra run.

Xavier Bartlett to bowl, Klaasen misses out on full toss. Yorker again, Aniket gets a single. Klaasen looks for the reverse-lap, and gets a single to short third. Wide yorker, Aniket picks out the sweeper. 

Klaasen misses out on another full toss. Aniket misses out again, six from the over.

Jansen again, Aniket Verma to the crease. Klaasen clips away two to leg, and follows it with a single. Aniket off the mark with a single to long-off. Dead straight from Klaasen, one more to the total. A

Arshdeep Singh again, dropped by Stonis at long-off! Klaasen miscues an attempted straight hit, but Stoinis can’t complete the catch running in! Salt into the wound, misses the yorker and Kishan flips it away over leg! 

Full toss, Kishan misses out! On a length now, Kishan slaps it to leg for one. Slower bouncer, Klaasen slaps it wristily to long-on. Oh, what a catch! Marco Jansen, cool as you like! Leg-stump half-volley and Kishan flicks it away. Jansen runs across from deep mid-wicket and takes the catch one-handed to send the SRH captain on his way.

Four! Bad ball to end the over, half-volley outside off and Kishan can dump it over covers for four.

Marco Jansen comes back, Kishan drives straight for one. Pace off heading down leg, Klaasen clips it for one. Four! Great shot, stylishly swung past short fine by Kishan. Swung away for one more. Edged to Chahal at short third. 

Klaasen takes a single to end the over, eight from it.

Shashank to keep going for now, four to start the over! Pulled into the gap. Floated full and wide, Kishan drives to cover. Dug into the pitch now, slapped straight for one.

Slapped! Dug in again, Klaasen pulls through midwicket for four more! Driven to long-off for one. Wide outside off, Kishan gets an under-edge for one.

Chahal continues. A dot to start with. He takes a single next ball. Ishan gives Klaasen the strike back next.

Hat-trick of fours! A slash past backward point again to reach the fence. Full toss and Head misses it. He has asking whether it’s a waist-height no ball. Umpire hasn’t called it but he takes a review. It’s a no ball! Takes a single off the free hit. Good yorker by Bartlett. 

SIX! Abhishek pulls over the midwicket. Huge six! A single to end the over. 105 runs off the PowerPlay - joint third-highest score in IPL in the first six overs! 

Vijaykumar Vyshak into the attack. Abhishek moves away and slogs the ball over cover for a six! Huge hit that, into the stands. Abhishek wanted to smack again but Vyshak gets his hand in the way. 

SIX! Abhishek switches to the aerial route again and gets another maximum! This time he goes over long off. 

Short ball and Abhishek lofts him over long on for a six! That’s his fifty off just 18 balls. Fantastic innings. A dot next up.

Marco Jansen into the attack now. Head plays a dot first ball. Now he whacks the ball past the cover for four.

Arshdeep. Short ball and Abhishek pulls him for four towards midwicket! He’s looking in a good rhythm. Another four! This time he picks the length, a slower one, and lofts it over mid on. 

Wide! This time too far wide outside off. A dot. Abhishek moves across, Arshdeep bowls away from him. This time it’s called a wide - too wide again outside off. Another wide! Same approach, same result. 

Slower bouncer and it’s called wide again! SIX! Length ball and Abhishek picks the ball early and lofts it over the bowler’s head for a maximum. 

Now Arshdeep comes around the wicket, bowls short and Abhishek upper cuts him for another six! A yorker to finish! A dot. 10-ball over. 

Xavier Bartlett into the attack. Abhishek welcomes him with a four! In the slot and Abhishek drives it straight past the bowler. Slower one, Abhishek is beaten; Prabhsimran can’t grab it cleanly and batters run a single off a bye. 

Head takes a single to towards deep extra cover. Bartlett delivers a good wide delivery that’s just inside the line; a dot.

Arshdeep begins with a wide down the leg. Now Abhishek is offered width, and he cuts past extra cover for four! 

Abhishek gets off the strike with a quick single next ball. Another down the leg wide, this time to Travis Head. Head cuts but only a dot as it fielded brilliantly by the backward point fielder. 

Slower one, Head plays another dot. Another pace off delivery, another dot as Head is beaten. Now Head opens the face of the bat and gets a double to end the over. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad will have an IPL debut today in Vidarbha quick Praful Hinge. Hinge is a tall, quick bowler who has played only one Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, who earned his IPL call-up after impressing in trials with SRH, MI, and GT and impressed on Vidarbha’s run to the Vijay Hazare Trophy title.

SRH captain Ishan Kishan mentioned that Hinge, who is named among the Impact Players options, will be playing today.

So we get an early glimpse at the dynamic duo of Travishek -- Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. The two have been undone with early seam movement twice already this tournament, can Arshdeep Singh and Co. do the same today?

We’ll find out in just under 20 minutes.

Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer are out in the middle for the toss. Shreyas flicks the coin up into the air, Punjab Kings wins the toss and opts to bowl first! Want to get a sense of how the wicket is behaving first, says Shreyas. Feels that his side is going well, and just need to back each other. 

Kishan says that he is backing his bowlers to execute the plans. Salil Arora and Praful Hinge come in for Liam Livingstone and Jaydev Unadkat. Hinge is making his IPL debut today.

Dale Steyn on the broadcast suggests that a score of 170-180 could be around par on this pitch today. There doesn’t seem to be much grass on the wicket, but there could be a little grip for the spinners. 

That could potentially bring Harpreet Brar into consideration for Punjab Kings. 

Liam Livingstone has long carried a hefty price tag and reputation in the IPL, and 2026 has proved no different. Sunrisers Hyderabad splashed the cash to bring him over to the Orange Army, and after sitting out of the first two games, he came into the side in the third. 

His first outing proved tough, walking in after SRH had lost its top three early in the piece, and he managed 12 from 17 balls with a single six, but if he retains his place and finds form, he can be one of the most destructive batters in world cricket.

Punjab Kings’ side is provided a lovely balance by the all-rounder capabilities of South Africa’s Marco Jansen. Jansen, who is 6’8’, can trouble batters with his bounce and left-arm angle, and is a more than useful hitter in the lower-order.

His skills were on display during South Africa’s run to the semifinal of the T20 World Cup, and though he has just two wickets at an economy of over 10 so far, he can be tough to handle when he finds rhythm with both bat and ball.

The evergreen Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who recently became the first pacer to take 200 IPL wickets, has the most wickets in matches between these two sides. Here is the full list:

Sunrisers Hyderabad comes into this match on the back of a tight defeat against Lucknow Super Giants in Hyderabad in its last outing.

After being put in to bat, Mohammed Shami ran through the SRH top-order, reducing it to 35 for four inside the first 10 overs, although fifties from Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy managed to get it to a competitive score.

However, that score would prove insufficient as LSG captain Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten half-century to get his side over the line with five wickets in hand, hitting Jaydev Unadkat for three boundaries in the final over to seal the result.

PBKS and India left-arm quick Arshdeep Singh is the backbone of his side’s attack, but has gone wicketless so far in his side’s three matches. Though he has bowled well at the death on batting-friendly wickets, he has yet to claim a scalp in IPL 2026, and will be hoping today is the day he does so.

He is also on 97 IPL wickets, and will want to close out this century as quickly as possible.

The encounter between these two sides in IPL 2025 proved a match where batters scored at a gluttonous rate in Hyderabad. 

After being inserted by the host, Shreyas Iyer led the way for PBKS with 82 from just 36 deliveries, while Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, and Marcus Stoinis all played useful cameos as it put up a seemingly impressive 245 for six in its 20 overs.

That total, was made to look vastly insufficent by a remarkable innings from Abhishek Sharma, who crunched 141 from 55 balls with 14 fours and 10 sixes to see SRH home at a canter. Travis Head also smashed 66 from 37 balls as the opening pair put on 171 from a little more than 12 overs before completing the chase with nine balls to spare.
