Anukul Roy. Samad takes a single off the first ball. Wide but just inside the line and Badoni ends up playing a dot.

Anukul with his second. Marsh off his back foot hits it to long off for a single. Oooohhh arm ball and that skids through and keeps a little low, Markram does well to get some bat on that, takes a single on the leg side.

Rathi to bowl the 8th over. Rahane chips that in the air to long off for a single. Raghuvanshi tries to reverse sweep it but it hits his pads, LSG decide against taking the review. That looked like it was outside the line.

Rahane flicks that beautifully in the gap between long on and deep mid wicket for a FOUR! BEAUTIFULLY TIMED FOR RAHANE!

Rahane guides that towards the leg side for single. Raghuvanshi hits that to deep cover for a single. Rahane chips that in the air straight down the ground for a single.

Siddharth with his second. Rahane guides it off his pads on the leg side for a single. Raghuvanshi times that well on the off side for two runs. Raghuvanshi sweeps it and beats the fielder at deep square leg for a BOUNDARY!

Good recovery from KKR this after losing Allen early. Raghuvanshi cuts it to Marsh at short point for a single. Rahane off his pads hits it to short fine leg for a single, 50 partnership up between the pair. Raghuvanshi hits it straight to extra cover, dot ball.

Avesh Khan to bowl the sixth. Starts well, beats Raghuvanshi’s outside edge. Raghuvanshi does not connect again but sneaks in a single, he’s scored only six runs from his 12 balls so far. 

Full toss from Avesh, Rahane drives that beautifully but some brilliant fielding at cover by Mukul Choudhary, he’s saved three runs for his team.

Raghuvanshi on the bounce slices it over short third for a BOUNDARY! This will make him feel good. Avesh goes too full and Raghuvanshi hits it over cover all the way for SIX! WHAT A SHOT! Another good shot from Raghuvanshi, threads it through the off side for another BOUNDARY!

Digvesh Rathi into the attack, spin from both ends. Starts with a short one outside off stump, Rahane fails to put that away, dot ball. Rahane flicks it straight to square leg for a dot.

Another short one from Rathi, Rahane tries to pull it but inside edges the ball onto his pads, dot ball again. Rahane creates room and goes down the ground, doesn’t get all of it but the ball trickles to the boundary! FOUR RUNS!

Rahane creates room but slices it, goes onto the practice wickets behind short third and the ball races away for ANOTHER BOUNDARY! Rahane flicks it to long on for a double.

Allen and Rahane walk out to open the batting for KKR. Shami takes the new ball for LSG. Rahane on strike, first slip in place. Outswinger from Shami to start, Rahane guides it to deep third for a single. Allen on strike.

Ooohhh play and a miss from Allen, Shami swings that wide outside off, dot ball. And again, sharp movement from Shami, another play and a miss from Allen, beats his outside edge. Allen charges and it’s an inswinger this time from Shami, beats the batter again. Three dot balls to start from Allen.

KKR stumbled to 25/2 in 3.4 overs in the last match against Punjab Kings while batting first but can Rahane and Allen give KKR a better start today? 

Or will LSG’s bowling, which has done a fine job in the first two games, be able to restrict KKR to less than 180?

Sunil Narine is back in the playing XI in place of Blessing Muzarabani, says Ajinkya Rahane. He also confirms that Cam Green is ready to bowl. 

The most expensive player at the auction is long overdue for a big one and tonight could be the night that Green finally breaks through the shackles. The Australian was bought by the franchise to fill the big shoes left behind by Andre Russell and has unfortunately not done that job so far. 

But with reports suggesting that Green will be back bowling in today’s game combined with his shortage of runs, the all-rounder will be eager to prove a point and silence the critics. 

Markram has been one of the most consistent performers with the bat around the world over the last few years but has not hit the ground running yet in the 2026 season. 

The South African did score a 45 in the last game but by his lofty standards, anything less than a half century is considered a failure. Against a weak bowling attack in KKR and in a ground with small boundaries, can Markram score his first half century of the season?

Narine wasn’t well ahead of the game against Punjab and hence wasn’t available for that fixture. However, he has been training with the team for the last two days and is likely to be available today. 

Varun Chakaravarthy injured his finger during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and has been nursing that since then. He remains doubtful starter for today as well.
