After years of narrow misses and heartbreaks, Royal Challengers Bengaluru has the chance to secure back-to-back titles when it takes on Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026 in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
In doing so, it could become only the third team after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians to successfully defend an IPL title.
Further, Rajat Patidar will become just the fourth captain to win multiple IPL titles after M.S. Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma.
RCB has played in four finals before IPL 2026, with its only victory coming last year against Punjab Kings last season. Before that, RCB had lost three finals — in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
