Rajasthan Royals (RR) can grab the final playoffs spot without relying on other results if it beats Mumbai Indians (MI) in its last game on Sunday as the win will take its tally to 16 points.

However, the Royals can also qualify even if they lose to MI provided Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) - both are currently on 13 points - also suffer defeats in their last games against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) respectively with the latter’s Net Run Rate (NRR) not being better that the Royals.

In order to qualify for the playoffs, PBKS not only needs to beat LSG in its final game on Saturday but it also requires RR to lose to MI (a washout also works for PBKS) and KKR either losing to DC or winning by a margin not big enough to make KKR’s NRR better than PBKS as both teams will have 15 points.

KKR can qualify for the playoffs if it beats DC, and PBKS and RR lose their respective games. If PBKS wins against LSG and RR’s match against MI is washed out, KKR needs to beat DC by a big enough margin to have a better NRR than both PBKS and RR since all three teams will have 15 points.

DC has an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs. It definitely needs a win against KKR but it also has to pray that PBKS and RR both lose their finals game with the latter suffering defeat in such a manner that DC has a better NRR than RR since both DC and RR will have 14 points.
