Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday used the BJP’s recent electoral wins, including the party forming a government in West Bengal to sharpen his attack on the Congress, accusing it of being consumed by internal power struggles and surviving as a “parasite party” dependent on allies.
The PM was in the city to inaugurate the 45th anniversary celebration of the Art of Living. The PM was was felicitated by BJP State President, B Y Vijayendra and other state leaders in the city, prior to the event. Ahead of the PM’s visit, police recovered suspicious bags containing gelatin sticks on the outskirts of Bengaluru along a route where the Prime Minister’s convoy was scheduled to pass. Security agencies launched an investigation, and details are awaited.
During the address, Modi said voters across states are increasingly choosing “stability, speed and solutions, not scams,” even as the world faces growing uncertainty due to conflicts in West Asia.
Internal conflict
He also pointed out to the internal conflict within Congress, referring to power sharing disagreement between CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar.
He concluded by assuring that the BJP-led NDA government remains committed to improving both living standards and the ease of doing business in Karnataka.
