The Civil Supplies Department of Telangana has directed the Private Marketing Companies (PMCs) dealing with Auto LPG to source it from all possible avenues and ensure uninterrupted supply at retail outlets.
In a review meeting with PMCs, M. Stephen Raveendra, Commissioner of Civil Supplies, directed them to intensify their efforts in sourcing Auto LPG and to ensure consistent supply across their outlets.
During the previous review, it was observed that a large number of private Auto LPG outlets had ceased operations. In today’s meeting the commissioner said the PMCs had made `considerable progress’ over the past week. A total of 363 MTs of Auto LPG was sourced and supplied during the week, and 17 previously non-operational (dry) outlets were restored to functioning status.
However, some PMCs concern made `limited or negligible progress’, he said adding maintaining an uninterrupted Auto LPG supply is critical to safeguarding the livelihoods of auto driver and directed all PMCs to remain fully committed to this objective, according to a release.
