The Tamil Nadu government is planning an international cricket stadium in Coimbatore with a total seating capacity of 25,000 for spectators. It will have a configuration of North Pavilion, South Pavilion, East Stand and West Stand, 25 corporate boxes and lounges.
The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation Ltd has issued a tender with requests for bids from interested, qualified and eligible bidders for the Development of International Cricket Stadium and Commercial Complex in Coimbatore, on Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis.
A land parcel measuring 20.18 acres for development of the International Cricket Stadium (including Mandatory Development Obligations and Other Permissible Facilities) will be provided for the Concession Period of 35 (thirty-five) years on licence basis, which includes the Construction Period of 5 years, says the tender document.
Further, a land parcel measuring approximately 10.18 acres for development of Commercial Complex will be provided on lease for a period of 60 years on a nominal lease rent of ₹1,000 per acre per annum.
Until the expiry or termination of the Concession Agreement, the terms and conditions of the Concession Agreement shall prevail. After the expiry of the Concession Period of 35 years for the Stadium, the lease for the Commercial Site shall continue as per the terms of the Lease Deed for the Commercial Site, says the tender.
A club house is also proposed with health club, fitness centre, indoor games, board games and changing room, restaurant, banquet hall and a swimming pool, the tender says.
