Frontline won the Bronze award in the “Best Use of Audio” category at the WAN-IFRA Digital Media Awards South Asia 2026 for Mission Manipur hosted by Greeshma Kuthar, an original podcast on the ongoing armed conflict in Manipur.
This year’s Digital Media Awards South Asia recognised excellence in digital innovation, creativity, and audience engagement, highlighting the news industry’s efforts to advance storytelling and technology-driven journalism. Entries were judged by a panel of digital media experts, editors, and industry leaders on the basis of innovation, audience impact, and journalistic excellence.
Mission Manipur documents a conflict that had been normalised or overlooked by the state and large sections of the national media. Its editorial aim was to present evidence-based reportage grounded in lived experiences alongside political analysis and contextual discussions.
