Skyroot Aerospace’s Vikram-1, India’s first privately built orbital rocket has set off for the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh by road from Hyderabad.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has formally flagged off the vehicle carrying the nose of the rocket built at Skyroot’s manufacturing facility near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here.

Other parts of the rocket will also be ferried to Sri Harikota. The propellant stages have already been sent to there. This milestone marks the completion of Vikram-1’s pre-flight testing programme and its readiness for the upcoming launch mission.
