The Regional Passport Office (RPO) in Visakhapatnam has rescheduled applicant appointments originally slated for May 28, 2026, advancing them to May 27, 2026.

According to an official press release issued by Suyash Chavan, Passport Officer, Visakhapatnam, the change comes in response to a shift in the official holiday calendar. The public holiday for Bakrid (Eid al-Adha), initially scheduled for May 27, has now been shifted to May 28, 2026.

The change applies to all Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs), Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) and the Regional Passport Office under the Visakhapatnam jurisdiction. The passport office is sending SMS alerts to all affected applicants to notify them of their revised dates.

Passport authorities have advised applicants to note the advancement of their original schedules and report to their respective centres, or the Enquiry Counters at the RPO Visakhapatnam, in line with their rescheduled slots.

“Applicants who require further clarification or have doubts about their rescheduled appointments can contact the passport office helpline at 0891-2745746,” a passport official told The Hindu on Tuesday (May 26, 2026).
