A panchayat secretary from Veljal village in Rangareddy district was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of ₹20,000 on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
The accused, identified as M. Sharath Kumar, was working as panchayat secretary in Talakondapally mandal. According to the ACB, he had initially demanded ₹30,000 from a complainant for uploading land details online and issuing a “No Due Certificate” and “Property Valuation Certificate”. The amount was later negotiated down to ₹20,000.
