A rare deer hunting hero stone has been found during an archaeological exploration at Vakwadi village, Kundapur taluk of Udupi district.
According to T. Murugeshi, an archaeologist and founder trustee of Adima Kala Trust, Udupi who conducted the exploration, the hero stone could be of 9-10th century A.D. It was found at Dyagala Mane Babu Shetty Compound in the village, he said.
