An Artificial Intelligence-powered Smart Crime Analytics and Data Management System aimed at strengthening criminal investigations, data analysis and victim feedback management was inaugurated at the CID Headquarters in Hyderabad on Friday.

Director General of Police C. V. Anand inaugurated the Advanced Computer Lab and She Cyber Lab, describing technology as the most powerful tool in modern policing and stressing the need for law enforcement agencies to continuously adopt advanced solutions to tackle evolving crime trends, particularly cybercrime.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the Telangana Police has remained at the forefront of technology adoption in the country and has consistently embraced innovative practices since the formation of the State. He noted that the department has earned national recognition in areas such as cybercrime prevention, digital forensic investigations and data analytics.

The newly established facility is equipped with an AI-powered system designed to support crime analysis, conference management and data-driven policing. Among its key features is the ability to automatically identify the person speaking during meetings, direct cameras towards the speaker, zoom in automatically and record high-quality audio and video. Discussions can be digitally captured, transcribed and stored for future reference.

Officials said the system can also recognise content displayed on digital screens and convert it into text, audio or report formats. Using artificial intelligence, it can process large volumes of information, assist in crime mapping, filter data, identify trends and support comprehensive case reviews.

A significant feature of the new facility is its ability to digitally record and preserve feedback from victims and complainants. Police said this would help investigators assess public responses, monitor case progress and improve the quality of investigations.

The system is also expected to support faster operations within the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems platform by facilitating case registration, information analysis, data management, verification and corrections.

Mr. Anand said the adoption of advanced technologies would improve accuracy in investigations, enhance transparency, speed up decision-making and strengthen overall policing capabilities. He added that the facility would mark an important step in the continued modernisation of Telangana Police and CID operations.

He also highlighted the role of the recently launched T-SPARK technology team, which he said has been contributing to innovation and technology-driven policing within the department.

The inauguration was attended by Charu Sinha, DG, ACB and CID, DIGs Naveen Kumar, Narayana Naik and Parimala Hana Nuthan, SP Maddipati Srinivas and other senior CID officers and staff.
