Madras, June 24: The west coast is likely to receive heavy rain in the next two days. According to a special bulletin issued by the weather office here, a well-marked trough of low pressure has formed in the east Arabian Sea over Lakshadweep and off the Kerala, Karnataka, Goa coast. A low pressure area also lies over the central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off Andhra and Orissa coast.
The southwest monsoon will revive over Kerala and coastal Karnataka in the next 48 hours and widespread rain is expected over Lakshadweep and in Kerala and coastal Karnataka. Isolated heavy rain is likely in the extreme western parts of interior Karnataka during the same period. Squally weather will prevail over Lakshadweep and along and off the Kerala and Karnataka coast during the next two days.

Conditions are now becoming favourable for the strengthening of the southwest monsoon over Kerala according to a special weather bulletin issued by the Meteorological Centre, Trivandrum.
