One person was killed, and two others sustained injuries in a road accident involving a motorcycle and a bicycle near Hanuman Temple in Nanakramguda on Sunday morning.
The accident was reported at around 8 a.m. when a motorcycle being ridden in a rash and negligent manner hit a bicycle from the rear near Rotary Circle in Nanakramguda.
The cyclist, identified as 52-year-old Samim Khan, an electrician residing at Gopanpally Thanda, sustained grievous injuries in the collision. He was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
Police said that after hitting the bicycle, the motorcycle rider, identified as Arun, 22, lost control of the vehicle, crashed into a roadside wall and fell. Arun sustained injuries in the accident.
The pillion rider, 25-year-old Indrasena Reddy, a native of Kamareddy, suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot, police said.
A complaint was lodged by Md Sabbir Khan, a resident of Kokapet and nephew of the injured cyclist. A case was registered against the motorcycle rider for rash and negligent driving resulting in grievous injuries and death. Further investigation is underway.
