In the wake of a conflict between trustees of Veerashaiva Lingayat Panchamasali Guru Peetha in Harihar and followers of expelled seer Vachananand Swami, Deputy Commissioner of Davangere G.M. Gangadharaswamy has imposed prohibitory orders on the peetha premises in Harihar till May 31.
In his order on Monday, the Deputy Commissioner has said that prohibitory orders will be in place till May 31 under the provisions of Section 163 of BNS and that both the factions are barred from holding meetings or press conferences on the premises.
