Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko has welcomed the Union Railway Ministry’s approval to operate a day time train between Tiruchi and Tirupati.

In a statement, he said that it was a long-standing demand of the people of Tiruchi. As per the approval of the Ministry, the daytime train service operating between Guntur and Tirupati will be extended up to Tiruchi and will be operated on the Tiruchi - Guntur - Tirupati route.

He met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and impressed upon the need of operating a daytime train between Tiruchi and Tirupati. As a Member of Parliament, he had closely followed up the demand and written a number of letters to senior officials of the Railways. His demand had now been accepted. The train service would be beneficial to the people of Tiruchi and neighbouring areas to visit Tirupati.
