Kanniyakumari district has once again demonstrated its allegiance to national parties, with the Congress securing all three contested constituencies and CPI(M) securing one segment. Meanwhile DMK registered a victory in Nagercoil constituency and AIADMK is leading in Kanniyakumari constituency.

However, in all the five constituencies, BJP and TMC(M) contesting under lotus symbol were pushed to third position by Tamilga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK).
