President Droupadi Murmu on Monday conferred Padma awards at a civil investiture ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, honouring distinguished personalities from across the country for their contributions in various fields.
Among the recipients were seven individuals from Telangana who were awarded the Padma Shri and one Telangana-origin doctor based in the United States who received the Padma Bhushan. Nori Dattatreyudu was conferred the Padma Bhushan in the field of Medicine for his contributions to healthcare and medical sciences.
The Padma Shri awardees from Telangana included Chandramouli Gaddamanugu in the field of Science and Engineering, Deepika Reddy (Art), Guduru Venkat Rao (Medicine), Krishnamurty Balasubramanian (Science and Engineering), Kumarasamy Thangaraj (Science and Engineering), Palkonda Vijay Anand Reddy (Medicine), and Rama Reddy Mamidi, who was honoured posthumously in the field of Animal Husbandry.
