Residents of Rajendra Prasad Road in Narimedu on Monday complained about overflowing sewage on the road that posed a serious threat to the people.
The residents said there were many schools, two hospitals and a church along this stretch. People were affected by the overflowing sewage.
The people particularly, office-goers and schoolchildren were affected as they had to travel along the very same stretch every day to reach their school or office. A foul stench emanated from the overflowing sewage, they said.
There was no proper drainage system in the area, the residents complained, adding that it caused health hazards. They said despite regularly paying the taxes, they had to suffer.
The residents urged the Corporation authorities to conduct an inspection and rectify the issue by constructing a pumping station to drain the sewage.
