In the class 12 board examinations, Sivaganga district has improved from the sixth position to second place in overall pass percentage at the State level.
The pass percentage for government schools has improved, moved the rank up from eight place to second place.
In Sivaganga district, a total of 15,983 students, comprising 7,265 boys and 8,718 girls from 163 schools, wrote the examination.
In this, a total of 15,671 people, consisting of 7,062 boys and 8,609 girls, cleared the examination.
With 97.21% of boys and 98.75% of girls passing, a total of 98.05% of students passed.
Last academic year, with a pass rate of 96.71%, it secured the sixth place at the State level. But now, with the pass percentage increasing by 1.34, it has moved up to second place by obtaining 98.05%.
In the district, 6,139 students, comprising 2,418 boys and 3,721 girls from 69 government schools, wrote the examination. In this, a total of 5,953 students, consisting of 2,307 boys and 3,646 girls, passed.
With 95.41% of boys and 97.98% of girls passing, a total of 96.97% of students passed the examination.
Last academic year, government schools secured the 8th place at the state level with a 94.06% pass rate. Currently, the pass rate has increased by 2.91%, and by obtaining 96.97%, it has moved up to second place.
Following this, the Sivaganga District Chief Educational Officer Baladhandayutham congratulated the students who wrote the exam and the teachers who assisted them.
