The Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), Kalaburagi, has welcomed the State government’s decision to extend Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of ₹28.47 crore for the proposed Kalaburagi-Bengaluru air service through Star Air, while seeking early commencement of operations and inclusion of the region under the next phase of the regional connectivity scheme.
KKCCI president Sharanabasappa Pappa, in a release here on Monday, stated that the move is a “positive and timely intervention” aimed at restoring air connectivity to Kalaburagi, where flight services have remained suspended since October 15, 2025, affecting passengers, industry stakeholders and the business community.
