Lanka Dinakar, the Chairman of the Twenty-Point Programme Implementation Committee (Swarna Andhra - Viksit Bharat), on Saturday claimed that the school drop-out rate has reduced significantly in the Kakinada district, thanks to Talliki Vandanam and the Dokka Seethamma Mid-Day Meal Scheme.

During 2025-26, total enrolment across 1,861 schools in the district increased to 2.87 lakh students, including 1.23 lakh students in the 1,250 government schools, Mr. Dinakar stated in a release.

Reviewing the Education sector, Mr. Dinakar has added that the Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) are generating valuable suggestions from students, parents, and teachers on quality education, nutrition, and school infrastructure.

Kakinada District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad and Joint Collector Apoorva Bharat shared the details on the implementation of various welfare schemes and initiatives in the sectors of health and education.

They claimed that nearly 100% institutional deliveries are being reported across the district, and special neonatal services are being provided at Kakinada Government General Hospital for children born with congenital defects.

Mr. Dinakar was informed that the construction of the Primary Health Centres (PHCs) has been completed in Rajapudi, Geddanapalli, Kotananduru, Sankhavaram, and Panduru. These PHCs are being built with ₹50 lakh each under the 15th Finance Commission grant.

Mr. Dinakar has appealed to the officials to reduce maternal and infant mortality rates and has directed the officials to prepare long-term drinking water plans under AMRUT 2.0.
