YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed constituency coordinators and regional in-charges to be vigilant during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, describing the next four weeks as crucial for safeguarding voter rights.

Addressing a meeting of senior leaders at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli on Tuesday, Mr, Jagan directed constituency coordinators to conduct daily reviews of the voter list revision process and report any irregularities to the election officials. If issues remain unresolved, they should be brought to the attention of the party’s central leadership without delay, he said.

“Once a voter’s name is deleted from the electoral rolls, restoring it can be a difficult and time-consuming process,” he said, and urged leaders to monitor the exercise and ensure that every eligible voter remained on the rolls.

Alleging that the ruling dispensation was attempting to misuse its authority during the revision process, Mr. Jagan claimed that efforts were being made to remove votes believed to support the YSRCP. The objective was to delete at least 50 votes from every polling booth, he said, and accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of employing tactics aimed at influencing the electoral rolls.

Mr. Jagan reiterated that the exercise required sustained attention from the party machinery and directed leaders to maintain close supervision of developments at the grassroots level throughout the coming weeks.
