The Swarga Foundation on Thursday (June 11, 2026) launched four initiatives aimed at promoting accessibility, inclusion and independent living for differently abled persons in Coimbatore.
A release from the foundation said that the initiatives include ‘Sarathi’, a fleet of five wheelchair and senior citizen-friendly cabs equipped with ramps for operation across Tamil Nadu; ‘Swag Cafe’, an inclusive cafe to be managed by persons with disabilities along with Coimbatore Corporation conservancy workers; ‘Samarth’, a programme for the donation of wheelchairs; and ‘Sugamya’, under which patented cabin-friendly wheelchairs and ramps will be donated to all railway stations in Coimbatore.
The initiatives were inaugurated by Minister for Backward Classes V. Sampath Kumar, in the presence of Coimbatore Collector Pavan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar.
Established in 2014, Swarga Foundation is a public charitable trust based in Coimbatore that supports persons affected by neuromuscular disorders and various disabilities. The organisation works in the fields of accessibility, advocacy, rehabilitation, counselling and para-sports.
