Heatwave conditions are set to intensify across northern parts of Telangana over the next two days, with maximum temperatures expected to range between 41℃ and 44℃ in several districts, according to K. Nagaratna, Head of the Meteorological Centre, India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad.
In a video message on Monday, April 27, Ms Nagaratna said prevailing synoptic conditions indicate the presence of a trough extending from Madhya Pradesh to the Comorin region, passing through interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Coupled with north-westerly winds blowing across Telangana, these conditions are expected to drive heatwave activity, particularly in the northern and north-eastern districts.
