A total of 746 candidates were absent for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) held in Salem range, which includes Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Namakkal districts, on Sunday (May 3).
As many as 8,985 of the 9,288 candidates who had taken halltickets came to the exam, which was held at 21 centres in Salem district, and entered the examination hall after a check up. Candidates who came after 1.30 p.m. were not allowed inside the exam centre.
