Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stressed the need for strengthening institutional capacity and adopting data-driven governance to build a robust economy and achieve the State’s Swarna Andhra-2047 vision.

Reviewing the Planning Department issues at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimates should no longer rely solely on conventional quarterly and annual assessment methods. Instead, the government should move towards real-time monitoring systems capable of tracking economic activity every month across districts and mandals.

Andhra Pradesh could achieve its long-term development goals only by sustaining a 15% growth rate.  Launch extensive capacity-building programmes for employees from the State to the mandal level to improve real-time economic data collection and analysis.

Mr. Naidu instructed officials to organise a three-month training programme covering five zones, 28 districts and 175 Assembly constituencies. The programme would include State-level workshops, zonal and district-level training sessions, and preparation of master trainers at the constituency level. Three officials from each constituency would receive specialised training, he said.

The Chief Minister also reviewed plans for AI-based economic analysis systems in agriculture, industries and services sectors. Officials informed him that advanced analytics tools were being developed to monitor economic indicators more effectively.

Mr. Naidu asked departments to identify untracked indicators and improve the speed and accuracy of economic estimates to support timely policy decisions and governance reforms.
