The Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) registered a total of 752 cases during a special enforcement drive against drunk driving and overspeeding conducted between April 27 and May 3 across the city.
The week-long crackdown, carried out by personnel from 53 traffic police stations, focused on curbing violations that pose a serious threat to road safety. Officials checked 46,103 vehicles and booked 633 cases against motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol. Meanwhile, in the drive against overspeeding, the police registered 119 cases and collected a total fine of ₹2.33 lakh, while an additional ₹1.19 lakh was collected under related enforcement measures.
