Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Tuesday alleged that the CBI’s inaction on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) was evidence of a political understanding between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He made these comments during the launch of the Mega Rythu Mela.

He said that despite a commission of inquiry completing its probe into alleged corruption and misuse of public funds in the Kaleshwaram project, no action had been taken so far. “We sought the CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) by submitting the report nine months ago, but there has been no progress,” he said, alleging that this reflected an tacit understanding between the BJP and the BRS.
