A baby girl was received in the Ammathottil electronic cradle of the Kerala State Council for Child Welfare here on Monday evening.
The girl, around 10 days old and weighing 2.64 kg, was named Nyla, after Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
Doctors at the Women and Children Hospital, Thycaud, declared the infant healthy after an examination.
Nyla is the sixth child to be received by the council this year. Anyone claiming the baby should contact the council since her adoption proceedings are to get under way, council general secretary G.L. Arun Gopi said.
