Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan of the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has reportedly withdrawn his earlier decision to surrender his security cover following criticism over an alleged assault involving his supporters.
The issue relates to an incident in which a Dalit woman working with the MEPMA wing of Chittoor Municipal Corporation was allegedly assaulted by a group said to be linked to the MLA. The incident drew attention and led to administrative response, following which District Collector Sumit Kumar directed officials to register a complaint.
