The city police have declared the places around Government College of Technology (GCT) as temporary ‘red zones’ with a ban on flying drones over these places.

The measure was taken as electronic voting machines and VVPAT units used in the April 23 polling for the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election are kept in strong rooms on the campus.
