In a significant development, the Gajuwaka police has asked daily wage labourers to shift their waiting point from the busy New Gajuwaka Junction to Zinc Gate. The decision was taken following heavy traffic congestion reported at the New Gajuwaka Junction.
Inspector of Gajuwaka (Traffic) Police Station, Shaik Hussain said that a large number of daily wage workers have been gathering at New Gajuwaka Junction daily between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in search of employment opportunities. The heavy gathering at the junction has been causing severe traffic disruptions during the morning rush hours, affecting commuters travelling to schools, offices and commercial establishments.
Keeping in view the seriousness of the issue, the traffic police has decided to relocate the labourer’s waiting point from New Gajuwaka Junction to the nearby Zinc Gate area, he said.
