A 16-year-old Intermediate student ended her life at a private junior college hostel in Madhapur on Tuesday night. The girl was studying MPC and had recently completed her first year at Sri Chaitanya Junior College’s Saraswathi Campus hostel located near Parvathnagar X road in Madhapur. She was a native of Kodad in Suryapet district.
Police said the incident was reported around 8.30 p.m. when she was alone in her hostel room. Preliminary inquiry suggests that she was under mental stress related to examinations.
Based on a complaint lodged by her father on Wednesday morning, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination and will be handed over to family members after completion of the procedure.
