To mark Mangaluru’s 75-year tryst with civil aviation, Mangaluru International Airport hosted an exclusive visit to the airport for II Pre-University examination toppers from Dakshina Kannada on Thursday.
Students explored airport operations, including critical passenger touchpoints, security protocols, and the crucial roles of Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) and Air Traffic Control (ATC). Senior leadership engaged with the bright minds, shedding light on exciting career opportunities in aviation.
This event is a move to celebrate the city’s aviation history, dating back to December 25, 1951, when the first aircraft carrying the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru landed at Bajpe aerodrome, the airport posted on social media.
