An outreach programme was organised by the office of the Intelligence and Criminal Investigation (I & CI) of the Income Tax (I-T) Department in Salem on Monday (May 11, 2026).
The programme was conducted by G.K. Ram Narayan of I & CI and I-T officials as per the guidance of the Directorate of I & CI Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
The programme was conducted to provide guidance on error-free filing of Forms 61, 61A, and 61B for statement of financial transactions, as well as responding to notices issued by the Department under the e-Verification Scheme 2021, including related provisions in the new Income Tax Act, 2025 and validation of PAN. The programme covered key aspects of effective response to notices issued by the Department, best practices for maintaining compliance, and e-Verification. Officials shared insights and provided hands-on training to ensure that the reporting entities were well equipped on navigate the filing process with ease.
Around 125 persons, including 75 employees and officers of the Co-operative Sub Registrar, Salem and auditors and accountants attended the event.
