Alanganallur police have booked a case of suspicious death into the death of the 4th daughter of a driver, S. Pandiarajan (40) on Saturday.
The police said that the mother had fed the infant in the early hours of Saturday. However, as the infant developed breathing problem, she rushed her to the PHC at Kovilpapakudi from where she was referred to Government Rajaji Hospital.
However, she was declared brought dead.
In an unrelated incident, a nine year old girl, B. Amirtha, died due to snake bite in Peraiyur.
The police said that P. Balamurugan, who was running an eatery in Mumbai, had come to his native place in K. Paramanpatti for a festival.
When the family members were sleeping, a snake was crawling over his son who was sleeping, on Friday night.
The family members rushed him to the PHC at Sedappatti from where he was referred to Government Hospital in Usilampatti.
Even as they rushed home to check on his daughter left alone at home, she started to throw up.
The children were admitted at GH. However, the girl succumbed to poison on Saturday.
