Kanniyakumari police’s “Nimir (The Rising Team)” rescued a 33-year-old woman with unsound mental health condition hailing from Dindigul, near Parvathipuram flyover on Friday.
According to a press statement, the woman was identified as Anusiya, 33. She had been missing for nearly three months and a complaint related to this had already been registered at Chinnalapatti police station, in Dindigul district.
Acting on information that a woman standing near Parvathipuram flyover matching her description, the “Nimir” police team rushed to the spot, identified her and successfully rescued her.
To ensure the safety and care of Anusiya, she was admitted to “Anbalaya”, a women’s mental health care home in Vellichanthai.
Subsequently, the Chinnalapatti police were informed. Anusiya’s parents and a woman constable from Dindigul arrived in Kanniyakumari on Saturday and took her back safely.
