Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Saturday handed over appointment letters to 120 candidates, who landed Central government jobs, at the Rozgar Mela held in Guntakal of Anantapur district.
The Rozgar Mela was organised as part of the nation-wide initiative to distribute appointment letters to over 51,000 youths conducted simultaneously across 47 locations.
Mr. Sanjay highlighted the Central Government’s efforts to create job opportunities. He described the Rozgar Mela as an initiative to instill confidence in the unemployed youth. This is being held with the objective of filling 10 lakh vacancies in the Central government and till date, appointments for nearly 12 lakh individuals were given in various phases in different departments of the Centre.
Mr Sanjay urged the youths to abandon corruption and cronyism.
The Union Minister said the Modi government was prioritising the development of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. “The Centre has initiated development works worth ₹3 lakh crore in Andhra Pradesh in the last two years,” he said.
Describing Andhra Pradesh as the fastest-developing State in South India, he praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu as a leader who has secured substantial Central funds for the State and continues to strive tirelessly for its progress.
Gutakal DRM Chandrasekhar Gupta, ADRM B.S. Shivaprasad, Divisional Personnel Officer H.L.N. Prasad, and other railway officials were present.
Mr. Gupta said among the 120 candidates, 93 received appointment letters as Assistant Loco Pilots, 13 under compassionate appointment grounds within the Railways, nine in the Department of Postal Services, four in the Bank of Baroda, and one in the department of Civil Aviation.
