The Subrahmanya police in Dakshina Kannada have registered a case against two persons, who were caught on CCTV camera stealing a cow standing near Pushpa Lodge in Kukke Subrahmanya on Wednesday.
The police said two persons came in a car and stuffed the cow into the car. The incident occurred between 2.30 a.m. and 2.50 a.m. on Wednesday. Following a compliant by one A. Shekar, the police saw footage of CCTV camera of a shop nearby. The CCTV showed the inhuman way of the accused stuffing the cow into the car, before driving away.
A case was registered for offences under Sections 303 (2) (theft) and 3(5) (criminal act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Sections 4,5, 12 of Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act, Section 11 (D) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and Sections 66 and 192(A) of Indian Motor Vehicles Act.
