Cattle hazard

Public encroachment
Encroaching public spaces in front of the houses have become a common sight in the twin towns Tirunelveli and Palayamkottai. They do this by raising the platform in front of the gate to avoid rain water entering into their premises. In addition, residents who lack parking facilities at their premises find it convenient to park their vehicles on the raised platforms. Even a roof over encroached parking space is built to protect the vehicle from weather conditions. This has forced the pedestrian to walk on the road instead of the pedestrian way. The authorities concerned are requested to intervene and take necessary action to clear these kinds of encroachments.

Basic facilities needed
The Triveni sangamam in Kanniyakumari does not have adequate provisions for proper toilets and potable drinking water facilities. The existing toilets do not have proper doors, flush tanks and lights. The authorities are requested to take necessary action in the interest of the public.

Power interruptions
Frequent interruption in the power supply in Marthandam does not sit comfortably with the ease of living. Sometimes power is restored within a few seconds, sometimes after a few minutes and sometimes it takes half an hour. This is repeated several times a day and has become a matter of routine.
This resulted in discontinuity in the work done using computers and other devices, causing inconvenience, irritation, disruption of time management. They also lead to a certain disorientation among the public. Not all houses can be expected to install inverters to cope with short duration power cuts. If there are valid reasons for the interrupted power supply, Tangedco must tell the public about them. We urge the Tangedco to ensure that electricity is supplied without interruptions.
