Osmania University has announced that no examinations will be conducted on May 27 (Wednesday) in view of Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha), following the holiday schedule declared by the State government, the university registrar said on Monday.
The clarification was issued amid growing concerns among students regarding exams coinciding with the festival. The university further stated that if the date of Bakrid changes depending on the moon sighting, the exam schedule under the jurisdiction of Osmania University will be revised accordingly. Students have been advised to regularly check the official university website for updated notifications and revised timetables.
The issue gained attention after AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi appealed to the Telangana government and university authorities to postpone several degree exams reportedly scheduled on May 28, citing inconvenience to students celebrating Eid.
