As the Nehru Indoor Stadium filled to capacity for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Sunday, large crowds gathered in 23 areas across the city, where the Chennai Corporation arranged live broadcast through LED screens.
People assembled from the morning at locations including T. Nagar Bus Stand, Marina Beach, Besant Nagar Beach, Anna Nagar Tower Park, Koyambedu CMBT, Kathipara Urban Square and Murasoli Maran Park in Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar zone.
Party cadre holding flags and wearing scarves were among the crowds.
At many locations, temporary shamianas, seating arrangements and loudspeakers were installed for the public.
Police personnel and civic workers regulated movement near bus depots, parks, and important junctions.
