The Telangana government, as part of its ongoing Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika programme, will observe May 11-17 as an “exclusive education week” to showcase the initiatives undertaken to strengthen government schools and improve the quality of education across the State, an official release stated on Sunday.
The programme will be inaugurated by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who also holds the education portfolio, at an event planned at LB Stadium here.
According to a statement issued by Director of School Education E. Naveen Nicolas, “Education week is intended to reflect the vision of the government in transforming schools into vibrant centres of learning, opportunity, and holistic development for every child.”
On Monday, when the programme is inaugurated, various initiatives and infrastructure development activities in schools in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) will be launched. The programme will highlight the government’s resolve to provide better learning facilities, improve school infrastructure, strengthen academic support systems, and create a child-friendly and inclusive educational environment, the release explained.
Much like Rythu Varothsavalu, which aims to strengthen the agriculture sector through various events and activities, education week will focus on celebrating the progress of government schools and promoting greater participation from students, teachers, parents, and community members.
Across the State, activities related to school development, student achievements, teacher initiatives, enrolment promotion, attendance recognition, creative exhibitions, and awareness programmes will be undertaken.
