A dog trapped in a mound of M-sand in Thanjavur was rescued on Monday.
According to sources, a street dog settled near the m-sand mound at Prabha Nagar Extension, Medical College Road. Early on Monday, a portion of the mound loosened and covered the dog’s body leaving its head above the sand pile.
Subsequently, the dog started barking seeking help. Animal Welfare Board personnel reached the spot and rescued the dog using a shovel, sources said.
